The chain is an important part of the bicycle transmission system. In order to ensure that the bike is in good riding condition, the chain needs to be renewed when it reaches a certain level of wear and tear.

When does your bicycle chain need to be replaced?

If you have a spare chain or a brand new one, you can compare the old chain with the new one. Measure the distance between each of the 10 connecting pins against the new chain measurements. If the length exceeds 1mm, then you need to replace it.
